Value

We experience value in our day to day lives. It shows us the roughness or shape of an object with NO lines. It refers to lightness and darkness without any colour but just shading. Value gives us the dynamic of art and without it we can't visualize what we're looking at. Many people have been taught that colour is the only thing needed for art to be created but, colour is only filling the picture while value gives it the definition.
